If you have a dedicated room for your home theater, then a fixed frame screen would best suit you. Because it's fixed, it allows the screen to be permanently ready for use and allows the screen surface to be tensioned in all directions, producing a clearer picture.

The advantages of a fixed frame screen are:

  • The screen is permanently in place ready for use.
  • Speakers can be placed behind the screen by using an acoustically transparent perforated screen surface.
  • The whole environment can be balanced for optimum sound quality and viewing positions.
  • Lighting conditions can be managed easily in a dedicated room.
  • With a fixed frame, the screen surface can be fully tensioned in
all directions and is completely flat.
  • A wider choice of surfaces is available for fixed frame installations. Screen surfaces can easily be replaced, if necessary.

Harkness Smart-View fixed frames are covered in black velour with various standard sizes available. Custom sizes are also available as a special order.

Harkness Home-View electric roller screens are ideal for customers with multi-purpose rooms. When not in use the screen is retracted electronically, allowing the room to be used for other purposes.

The advantages of a electric roller screens are:

  • The screen can be retracted electrically when not in use.
  • The screen can be flush fitted into a ceiling void.
  • The operation of the screen can be linked to control of room lighting or window blinds by using an appropriate control system. Harkness electric screens can easily be integrated into this.

Harkness Home-View electric roller screens are available in two forms:

  • Tab tensioned - side tensioning to the screen gives an extremely flat surface.
  • Non-tensioned - high performance screens but also a lower cost option.
